'Enduring a Horrific Ordeal': Relatives of Missing Teens Await News After Ski Resort Inferno
The loved ones of teenagers missing after a tragic inferno at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are facing an excruciating period of uncertainty for official news and pleading for any details about their family members online.
The fire ripped through the a popular bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the small hours of January 1st. Circulated images reveal the roof structure being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.
Authorities have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the fire, which killed 40 people and wounded another over a hundred. A spokesperson stated on Friday that the majority of the injured have been identified, with efforts ongoing to identify the final individuals.
In the interim, relatives have been using the internet to plead for any news about their missing relatives who were present at the venue that evening.
Desperate Searches for the Unaccounted For
The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are not yet determined, according to an heartfelt request from his mother.
