Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, stated he finally felt prepared to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Adequate time has elapsed that I can finally put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared never-before-seen clips from the production, adding that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a different piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles judge decided to prevent the publication of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate put a security hold on the cases to limit the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had already determined their deaths were the result of homicide, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Aftermath and Reactions

Following the tragedy, public personalities expressed different reactions.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering divisive claims that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the detractors last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan characterized the remarks as "disturbing" and suggested they showed a concerning deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by proposing that an adviser should have acted when the impulse to comment on the death was made.
