Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments landed in a neighborhood in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
