The former president's Granddaughter Gets Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before Professional Golf First Appearance
This young athlete maintains substantial social media presence
Kai Trump will have plenty of prominent supporters as she begins her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, received a special exemption to participate at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns numerous golf courses and often plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have tight competitions," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, unable to come, counseled her: "Simply stay calm."
"He essentially suggested to go out there and have fun," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with presidential duties, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in only three events in 2024 and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
But she can get advice from 15-time major champion, who is dating Vanessa.
"He represents the top athlete worldwide," Kai expressed.
"And he's a more impressive individual. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."
Kai will face some of the biggest names in women's golf at the Annika, including world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence brings golf to different demographics, especially with younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness label.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
